Although Western Reserve Controls, Inc. (WRC) is a privately held company and therefore not required under the law to report on conflict minerals, WRC is committed to high ethical standards and social responsibility and fully supports Congress’s efforts to eliminate the financing of extreme violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Although WRC does not purchase tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold directly, they may exist in the materials and components we buy. Therefore, in support of Congress’s goal, we are also working with our suppliers to responsibly purchase the materials and components we use in our products.
We expect the same supply chain transparency and practices from our suppliers. Our suppliers are expected to investigate the source and chain of custody of conflict minerals in the products they provide to us, to disclose their information on due diligence to us on request, and to purchase minerals from responsible sources that do not contribute to human rights abuses in the DRC region. We will work with our suppliers on a case by case basis to meet these goals.

At WRC we know it’s critical for you to maximize the investments you’ve made in your automation system and we support that with a track record of long product lifecycles relative to our competition. WRC’s Evergreen™ Lifecycle Support Policy protects your automation investment by giving you advanced warning about discontinued products and other disruptions that may affect your ability to maintain your critical automation systems.
The notification letters below plus link to WRC’s Discontinued Products List briefly describe the products soon to be (or currently) no longer available from WRC.
Lifecycle Stage Definitions
WRC’s Evergreen Lifecyle Support Policy classifies products into four possible status conditions as follows:
1: Active: Most current offering within a product category.
2: Active Mature: Product is available, but a newer product may exist.
3: End Of Sale: Discontinued sales announced – Customers should actively execute migrations and last time buys. Product generally available until the End of Life date however final purchases will only be accepted based upon product availability.
4: End of Life/Discontinued: Product no longer available. Repair/exchange services may be available.
Timing
WRC strives to provide a minimum three-month notice between an End of Sale (EOS) notification and a product’s End of Life (EOL) notice. However, shortened semiconductor lifecycles and the rapid evolution of software technologies make it harder and harder to predict the long-term availability of Active Mature products. WRC will honor our standard five-year warranty obligation when a product is ordered and delivered within the EOS to EOL transition period.
Suggested Replacements
Suggested replacements for discontinued products, when possible, are provided on our current Discontinued Products List available for download at https://www.wrcakron.com/wrc-evergreen. However, cross references between manufacturers and their products are never an exact match. Several differences may exist that could cause damage to the product, the system or to personnel. Contact the cross-referenced product supplier to determine if the suggested replacements have the features or options you seek.
If you have questions or need more information, please contact your local sales representative or WRC Technical Support by email at Support@WRCakron.com.
