SmartMux for low-cost, versatile I/O applications
supporting Allen-Bradley's Remote I/O Link. The W2 SmartMux
uses the same hardware as the W2 Holocon™,
but is not programmable. The I/O is fixed for ease of
use with open networks.
SmartMux-Lite for
highly distributed, low-cost, low-point count DeviceNet
solutions as well as special purpose models for high speed
counting applications.
SmartMux-Lite I/O adapters provide an economical, flexible,
convenient, and reliable way to add discrete and analog I/O
at your machine location with DeviceNet connections back to
your controller.
The JDA is a remote industrial I/O device that multiplexes
analog data acquisition and control signals in industrial or commercial applications.
The 1782-JDA4 is DIN-mounted I/O multiplexers and supports serial communications
on a DeviceNet link.
The JDB is a remote industrial I/O device that multiplexes
discrete data acquisition and control signals in industrial or commercial applications.
The 1782-JDB4 and 1782-JDB8 are DIN-mounted I/O multiplexers and support serial
communications on a DeviceNet link.
The Original SmartMux - SmartMux is viewed as a remote
adapter to the host processor providing scanning of analog
and digital values, data concentration, intelligent data
processing, communications handling, error detection and
protection against erroneous messages.
SmartMux supports the 1781-JAx protocol version for Allen-Bradley
PLCs using Allen-Bradley’s
patented Remote I/O Link.

SmartMux to Holocon Architecture
The W2 Architecture is an evolutionary enhancement of the
popular WRC1 SmartMux providing a multiprocessor architecture
supporting both embedded functionality and user programmable
functionality.
Converting a SmartMux to a Holocon Controller requires
the Real-Time JAVA Co-processor and Ethernet Processor added
to provide enhanced functionality and allowing user programming
in real-time JAVA as well as Ethernet communications.
