SOFTWARE INSTALLATION This package uses compression schemes to simplify installation and to permit the use of a single diskette. Both Windows and DOS installation programs are provided on your master disk. These programs will copy and expand the software package onto your floppy- or hard-drive. To begin the installation process, place the softare master diskette in a floppy drive and execute the SETUP.EXE program. DOS USERS If you are at a DOS command prompt, you can simply type "a:setup [ENTER]" (replacing 'a' with the drive letter that contains the master diskette). This will start the DOS installation program. The DOS installation program will ask you for various installation options, and will provide default settings. These default settings may be selected (by pressing ENTER) if they will work with your particular application and system setup, or you can respond to the questions with appropriate answers as needed. When all of the installation options have been set, the program will expand the necessary files into the destination you have selected. Once this process is complete, please put your Master Diskette in a safe place as backup. WINDOWS USERS (incl. 3.1, 3.11, 95, NT) Replace 'a' in the examples below with the drive letter that contains the master diskette. In Windows 3.x, select File|Run from the Program Manager and type "a:setup" and press ENTER. In Windows 95, select Start|Run... from the Explorer's task bar, and type "a:setup" then press ENTER. If you are in a DOS window, type "a:setup" followed by the ENTER key. Once the program has started, the default installation options will have already been selected. The source drive is automatically detected and the default destination directory is displayed. If you would rather install the software into a different directory, you may select a new one using the directory structure shown, or by simply typing a new path in the input box. When you are satisfied with the settings, click on Install to start the installation process. This will complete the installation process. TROUBLESHOOTING If you have problems with either of the installation programs, you can create the software package at the destination yourself. First, create the directory where you would like the package to be installed. Then copy the .EX_ file to the directory. Now change the extension from .EX_ to .EXE and execute the resulting file with the "-d" command line option. For example, if the file was FILENAME.EX_, you would copy this file to the destination directory, rename it to FILENAME.EXE, and run it by typing "FILENAME -d" This will decompress the files into their correct paths.
